Lord Shiva forms the part of the Trimurti (Trinity), the other being Brahma, the creator and Vishnu, the preserver. Lord Shiva or Siva is considered as the destroyer (of negativity). He represents the vital goodness in the form of Satyam, Shivam, Sundaram i.e. Truth, Goodness and Beauty. Lord Shiva performs a celestial role of dissolution and recreation of the universe, that’s why; he is mostly associated with the words, like destroyer and destruction.
Shiva Chalisa is a “forty verse” prayer which praises the Lord and asks for his help in removing hardships and obstacles in devotee’s life. It is said that devotees seeking blessings of Lord Shiva must recite Shiva Chalisa with devotion and sincerity. It is suggested that devotees should focus their mind on Lord Shiva or his image and then recite Shiva Chalisa.
Chanting Shiva Chalisa is believed to bring good health, prosperity and improvement in love life, relationship and marriage along with many other benefits.
